Our Story
Welcome to Southern Flor Collective, where every candle tells a story.
We’re Liz and Giselle — sisters, makers, and founders of Southern Flor Co., a thoughtfully crafted line of candles, goat’s milk soaps, room + linen sprays, and curated goods inspired by slow living, storytelling, and elevated ambiance. Proud Texans with roots as warm as our signature scents. Inspired during the 2020 pandemic to create something meaningful, Southern Flor was launched in 2021 to bring high-quality, clean-burning candles to homes across the Austin area and beyond.
At Southern Flor, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. Each candle is hand-poured using natural soy wax and eco-friendly ingredients, designed to be as safe for your loved ones as they are for the planet. But our candles aren’t just about sustainability—they’re about sparking joy, stirring memories, and making every space feel like home.
Since our humble beginnings, Southern Flor Collective has grown from a dream into a recognized name in the community. From local markets like The Oasis Market at Lake Travis and Cherrywood Coffeehouse Bazaar to shelves in beloved shops across Texas, including The Homestore in Round Rock and Plaza Las Rosas in San Marcos, it’s been an incredible journey connecting with so many of you.
Whether you’re lighting a candle to relax, reminisce, or simply brighten your space, we’re honored to be part of your story. Thank you for supporting Southern Flor Collective—a labor of love, a spark of creativity, and a celebration of life’s simplest, sweetest moments.
With love,
Liz & Giselle

BEHIND THE BRAND
BEHIND THE BRAND
Hi, I’m Liz.
Founder of Southern Flor Co. Mexican-American girly with a heart full of heritage, a love for Texas skies, and a passion for creating clean, nostalgic scents that feel like home.
Happily married and a proud rescue dog mom, I started Southern Flor in 2020, right in the heart of the pandemic. Like many, I was spending more time at home—and I started noticing how store-bought candles, soaps, and room sprays were making me feel off. That sent me down a rabbit hole of research, and what I found was eye-opening: many mass-produced products were filled with harmful ingredients and artificial fragrances that didn’t sit right with my body or my values.
So I got to work. I began handcrafting my own candles and home goods using essential oils, clean fragrances, clean-burning soy wax, and natural ingredients no fillers, no harsh chemicals, just the good stuff. What started as a small kitchen experiment quickly turned into a passion project rooted in my love for culture, comfort, and clean living.
Each product I create is a blend of storytelling and scent—infused with bits of my Mexican roots, the charm of Texas, and a whole lot of soul.

Take a minute to write an introduction that is short, sweet, and to the point.
Hello, I'm Giselle.
I'm a passionate graphic designer, branding expert, and creative based just outside of Austin, TX — in the charming town of Georgetown that I proudly call home.
With over 11 years of creative experience, I specialize in transforming ideas into visually compelling identities. From social media content and digital campaigns to printed collateral. I bring a thoughtful blend of strategy and creativity to every project. My foundation in branding helps me design visuals that not only look beautiful, but speak clearly to the right audience.
Most recently, I’ve joined Southern Flor as the newest addition and Co-Owner, stepping into the role of Creative Director and Curator. Here, I lead all things visual and experiential — shaping our brand presence, designing elevated packaging, and curating goods that celebrate slow living and storytelling. It’s a space where design and intention meet, and I’m honored to help bring that vision to life.
Outside of work, I own my own Design Studio G.A Collective Studio. When I’m not designing, I’m a wife and dog mom, fully fueled by my love for coffee. I find inspiration in books, fashion, music, and walks with my husky. I’m always seeking growth — whether through creative projects, thrift finds, or trying out a Pinterest recipe — and I consider it a gift to help others bring their visions to life through design.
